Ok.. this weekend has been filled with a bunch of musical events.
For starters... George Michael. Went to the concert at the ACC and I haven't been to a concert like that since Depeche Mode in '06. Like Depeche... George had everyone on their feet and singing along. Some people were even a little more outrageous with colorful glow sticks and lights all over their bodies. There was this one fella in particular who was dancing harder than I have ever seen anyone do at a show.
George Michael sounds amazing live. He didn't skip a beat... was smooth from start to finish.
I don't even think you have to be a George fan to enjoy this show. I was real surprised that his lone butt was able to carry the show the way he did. On occasion he would have his 6 backup singers come onto the stage and help him out. The light show and the videos playing in the background just added a nice extra favour. OH and high video point for me was Dita VonTesse... LOVE HER!
Don't know what else to say about the show except that it was ridiculously good. Loved it.
No opening act, his ass came out an hour late, and the only compliant I have is that the show was not long enough and he didn't do "I want your sex".. what's up with that?
I would post up the video clips from the show, but I don't know if I would be breaking any laws and I also don't want you to hear G and I sing poorly in the background.
I would love to talk about Rock the Bells, but I will get into that when I see the NY show in 2 weeks. Yes the NY show too... Tribe all the way baby!
